About The World Islands
The construction of The World Islands began in 2003 on the initiative of the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. However, due to the financial crisis of 2008, the construction was delayed for many years. Currently, fewer than ten islands are inhabited, but they attract the attention of celebrities and businessmen who have acquired about 70% of the development.
Key Features of The World Islands:
- A large-scale development by Nakheel Properties.
- Consists of 300 islands shaped like Earth's continents.
- Located between the Burj Al Arab Hotel and Port Rashid.
- Distance to the Persian Gulf coast - 4 kilometers.
The total area of The World Islands is 54 square kilometers, and the sizes of the islands range from 23,226 square meters to 83,613 square meters. The distance between the islands varies from 50 to 100 meters, and they are surrounded by an oval breakwater. Movement between the islands is possible only by water transport.
The most famous projects on The World Islands include the Portofino Hotel, Cote D’Azur Hotel, and The Floating Seahorse, located in The Heart of Europe - a cluster of six themed islands that embody the atmosphere of different European countries.
Despite being accessible only by water or air, The World Islands is located near attractions such as Dubai Garden Glow Park, featuring a luminous garden with exhibitions and lights, as well as the coastal district of La Mer Beach with equipped beaches, restaurants, cafes, and the Laguna Waterpark for children.
The World Islands is a unique place that combines luxury, originality, and amazing architecture, attracting tourists and investors from around the world.
